Never mind now it is installing good.

Why are so many people saying that AVG ha problems though? That was the ONLY reason thI didn't want to ge it.

Plus is Windows Defender a good firewall? Should I keep Comodo, or are there better ones out there?

Hi while you are installing AVG there are blue links attached for patches?

What are the erors?

I use only windows firewall.
I cannot get Virginmedia,s PC gaurd to install as I am running 64 bit Vista.

So besides windows firewall I have AVG8.
Spybot.
Defender.

I use live scan every so often and Microsoft Malicious software removal tool.

Check your PC health for free

AVG had problems setting your CPU to 100% thats why the patches are there to stop this happening I had this problem and oops noticed the patch.

Using the programms I normaly use I have not had any infection in 2 years.

But I am also very aware of downloading and link clicking and scanning incoming items.

Not sure what the errors were, it was small list that it brought up, but then I totally Uninstalled my Avast REBOOTED (Which I think made the real difference) and then re-installed, which worked.

Oh I do have Another prolem though. How come my Automatic Updates Turn OFF everytime that I restart the PC. When I go under Security Settings in Control pannel, Automatic Updates are OFF never done that be4 untill i changed antivirus

Proberly a conflict was there?

Some antivirus uninstalls can cause a few problems you could try a repair install with OS disk not a recovery.

Try this:How to configure and use Automatic Updates in Windows XP.

This should help:

You cannot turn on the Automatic Updates feature on a Windows XP Service Pack 2-based computer

I am not sure on firewalls I have never used anything else but what I have listed.

If you wait a little while I am sure others will post a few ideas.
