Default Need an antivirus recommendation...
I currently have macafee av and havent been that impressed.. Anyone have any sugestions? I was looking online and found a couple of "good deals" but didnt want to purchase anything without checking them out.. Which would you prefer? I looks like norton 360 has a special (30% off) .... i'll pick it up if its pretty good.

I use AVG and I am pleased. Had a Tech person recomment Clamwin. Do anyone have experience with it?

Definetely use AVG. Use the Free Edition too. Its what i use, and it works fantastically. Very easy to use, and automatically detects virus activity. Scans are relatively quick, and unlike McAfee and Norton, bitdefender etc, it does not slow your computer down. At all. It is a very nice program. Daily virus updates too. Highly recommend it. Also, download Windows Defender, its a free anti-spyware program from microsoft. I use both, and am very pleased.

Some people here recommend Avast, I've never used it personally though, but AVG is awesome

I have AVG Free edition, and I am having a problem with it, you see it yesterday it did a scan and it detected a virus and that I also don't have a Resident Shield detected on my PC, but this the first time I have had this problem and up until now AVG won't work can you tell me why and what I can do to stop this? Any advice would be great thanks.

Best thing to do with AV -- is to un/reinstall from a fresh download.
AVG is a good program -- but any program can have errors.

I run a paid network version af AVG and its so good I even became an affiliate for them excellent software but I think the free version has no resident protection right....Guys?

I don't think it does, near as I can remember my AVG window always says "Resident Shield Not Loaded" but I can't know for sure until I get home
