I recently upgraded to NAV 2008. (I am trying to condense this story.) Now I can't turn off liveupdate or get it to work and update my virus protection. Several long chats with Norton support with no success. Now they suggest I delete Norton and reinstall. However, when I go to control panel to delete, I get a message telling me to turn off liveupdate first before I can uninstall the program. However, I can't fina a way to turn off liveupdate. I have tried using the settings in NAV, but it still stays on.

How can I uninstall NAV? Any suggestions?

go to control panel> add/remove progams and uninstall Norton Live Update. then you should be free to uninstall the rest

Tried that; can't do it.Get a message stating "another installating is already in process".

Any other suggestions how to uninstall NAV (short of wiping hard drive)?

Finally able to shut down NAV and delete the program. I tried reinstalling it with another download from their website. Same problems. So I deleted it again and installed AVG today. I have used Norton for years without any problems, but I just couldn't get "liveupdate" to work. Now I have to dispute the charge with my credit card company because when I try to use their website to ask for a refund, it never goes beyond trying to install support sofware so I can have an instant chat!
