I have the AVG Free Version AntiVirus software installed in my PC. I recently tried to install AVG onto a USB Flash Drive connected to my computer. Won't install.
The purpose for my trying this is that some computers are so hosed up with bugs that AVG fails to install straight onto their computers. My thinking is, if I could install AVG onto a Flash drive, then I could plug the Flash drive into a problem computer and run the AVG off of the Flash drive. This would all me to clean up a computer that would not allow AVG to be directly installed. Once the computer is clean of bugs, then I could install AVG without any problems. These computers are running XP Pro SP 2.
The problem is that AVG would not install onto the Flash drive. At least not a Flash drive that is connected to a computer that already has AVG installed in it.
Would I have to make the Flash drive bootable, then boot off of the Flash drive in order to install AVG onto the Flash drive?
Does any one have a better idea for making this work?
I am afraid that this might be a limitation of the FREE version of the software.
