I Hope someone could help me because this is a very difficult problem for me. I use an AMd 3500+ and everthing was going fine until one day my computer monitor went blank. I thought it was a minor problem so I rebooted. What I got was a whole mess of scrambled words as the pc was booting up. ex. wnadows setup, prdss agy key tg bogt from cg. and so on. the windows startup screen would appear sometimes and then go blank. I tried to go into safe mode and scan for viruses but it wouldn't let me. I have not been able to go into safe mode again and I have tested the memory which appears to be working. I even tried another monitor. When I try to reinstall windows it crashes with an nv4_mini.sys fatal error. So now every time I start the computer it trys to resume setup and continues with the same fatal error. I have never ever encountered this problem before and I am at a total loss to what may be the cause. Is this a virus? Or a hardware issue? What would make the words misspelled like that? How do I stop that windows setup from continuing? When I boot into dos, it is very hard to make out the words because of the mispelling. repair does not work. Reinstalling does not work and I'm sure firing the machine out the window prob won't work either. I could really use your help.
Thanking you in advance.

done a quick google search on your error looks as though it may be your nvidia graphics card.
not sure what to suggest to help..if you have another graphics card about try putting that in and see if it works? may be broke. check it is secured properly and if it needs a seperate power connector that it is secured also. good luck man. |

I would start with the graphics card-- does it have an "onboard" graphics system or a separate card ? If it has both/switch to the other in the BIOS.
It could also be a failed mobo/power-supply Need more info on your rig. Motherboard or system Model model of graphics adapter PSU -- wattage/brand/age?(estimate) |

Hi welcome to the forum
Sound like a dodgy graphics card to me. I'd do what ih8bills said if you have onboard graphics as well remove the graphics card and see if it boots ok? if it duz you card is stuffed
