I've been using NOD32 for a few months after switching from McAfee. But I thought McAfee was a little more user-friendly and I enjoyed using it. Now i'm considering looking for another alternative, maybe something you guys would recommend? (price doesn't matter, just taking opinions

My favorites are Avast! Anti-Virus and Grisoft AVG Free. They are both free and are not resource hogs like you typically see in commercial AV software.
I recently gave Norton the boot and installed an Avast/ZoneAlarm combination and so far my computer is running better and they are doing just as good of a job.

Second that-- but I use AVG/ZoneAlarm.
AVG does it's job so well... and quietly that I once discovered an item in the Quarantine that I did not even notice for 2 months. It updates/runs itself late at night... I hardly know it's running. Zone Alarm take a little getting used to-- it "learns" your system by alerting a lot at first--because it also detects programs accessing the net from your PC. So if something like trojan slipped through-- it would catch it trying to "call home". It also watches installers-- When it alerts-- there is a 'more info' link --so if you are not sure you want to allow the app-- you can check it first-- before any potential damage. |

One downside to ZA is that if there is more than one account logged on - it will display alerts for all accounts, not just the one trying to run the program.

I'd also recommend ClamWin Anti-Virus
I was running it for a while before i moved to Vista. And i just use the Windows Firewall and don't do anything silly
