I am new to computers and was given one recently with Norton Internet Security installed,but found out that this expires in 30 days time.I've heard that there are some free antivirus programs on the internet.I would like to use one of these,but how exactly do I download and install this.Heard that there could be conflicts with Norton running.What can I do in this case.Can you recommend a good antivirus program from the internet?Please help!

Im glad your ridding your PC of Norton Norton is a resource hog and slows down your system, in my opinion some free antivirus is better than Norton.

First we will download the new one but won't install it just yet, i recommend AVG by Grisoft for free antivirus it is very easy to use, low on resources and good protection.

- Remember where you saved it.

You will need to uninstall Norton before installing AVG. I will guide you through how to do this:

- Click Start
- Control Panel
- Add or Remove Programs
- wait for the list to refresh.
- scroll down to Norton.
- Click Change/Remove or Remove
- Follow the prompts to uninstall it.

Now we can install AVG:

- double-click the file downloaded above.
- Follow the prompts to install it.

Also do you have Antispyware and Firewall software installed, if not you will need this and i can recommend some to you. Also i recommend you print out a copy of PCHF Protect your PC.
