They have an uninstaller/remover... I have had "issues" uninstalling Norton products completely the first time.
There always seem to be bits and pieces left behind-- which cause problems later on. I always had to edit the registry. Maybe this tool will avoid the problem. I run and recommend AVG-- personally-- I switched form Norton in 2003--and was never sorry.
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool

anyone know if you can use AVG on more than one pc without having to buy extra licences?
their web site says you can buy on line but if you click more pc' to cover the online price goes up.

You can use AVG Free on more than one PC, but i think you have to buy extra licenses with the other versions.

I was looking at the Internet security and not the anti virus box.
have used the norton removal tool before as 2006 wouldnt go on top of 2004 without removing first.

as both Norton and AVG seem equal I cant see a reason to change so need to be convinced!! other than AVG 'internet security' is an all in one package that way there are no conflicts between Zone Alarm and Norton so scanning should be quicker.

AVG is a lot lower on resources and in my personal experience it detects more. Norton hogs system resources and slows down your PC.

I use and recommend Eset's Nod32. I used to be a fanboi of Norton AV, but after giving Nod32 a trial run I have broken away from the Norton bloat...
