I know allot of people use the AVG Free, thought this would peek some interest:

GRISOFT is announcing a new version of the AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition. This new 7.5 version with improved performance and full compatibility with the latest Windows Vista version is available. Users that are using AVG Free 7.1 will be provided with a specific dialog, within the next few weeks, with the opportunity to choose the right option fulfilling their needs. AVG Free 7.1 version will be discontinued on 15th of Jan 2007.

To save any problems uninstall your current AVG, download & install the new

I have already installed it and know this works fine on XP, 2K & 98 SE2

yep i have tried AVG 7.5 aswell. Works on Vista too.

yeah they where the first to get one too work with vista i heard from some where. you don't need to unistall your old version of AVG just do a repair install much quicker and does the same.

Thats what i thought actually but it was a long time since i installed it. Im glad that MS opened up for Security companies. (they had locked the core before).

i had preferd that they had locked the core means no one can mees around with it then but that is my personal opinion (wich every one is entiled to).

Version 7.5 is free, I know, I'm running it.
