Wink [Answered] AV Shield Free based on Kaspersky

I need to download an Anti-Virus Program ASAP. I was reading the info under "Downloads" "Anti-Virus", which I believe was written by Joe 5, Security Team Leader, Site Manager. (If I am incorrect, please let me know!)

My ? is: I was always told don't go near AOL, does that have anything to do with this Anti-Virus Program?

Also, I do not understand how to e-mail a disposable mail address for the "Activation Code", can you please explain???

Is this an Anti-Virus Program that you would recommend???

I also need a "Firewall" -- any suggestions here?????

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi CrazyKate!

For the activation code... have you tried this website?

And Zonealarm is a free firewall (which I use) and it can be downloaded from here

And here is a list of firewalls from PCHF

Thanks for getting back to me! Just a few further ?'s:

1. I ?'d about AOL & recommendations/ comments, if any, for this
Anti-Virus they are offering.

2. No, I have not thought about using this website as an e-mail, what
would I type in??

3. Any lastly, is "Zone Alarm" really a "memory hog" - as I have heard
from a few people??????

Thanking you in advance for your assistance, I truly do appreciate it!!

Most people don't like AOL as it uses netscape and there is no other way to get connected to the internet apart from going through their logon, its also full of advertising and some Very annoying popups, the AV etc they come withare just bundled versions of one of the commercially available ones (not sure on specificly whch ones)

from a few people?????? I personally use zonealarm security suite and it is good, not really noticed any problems with memory usage. There is a good selection of security advice and downloads in the Downloads section of our site you might wnt to take a look
