Default [Resolved] - Norton Internet Security message pop up problem

Hi, I have Norton Internet Security 2004 and my live subscription ended few month ago. Recently a message saying renew started to pop up every half a minute and close in a second. I turned off live update and notify me when my subscrition is out of date, but it keeps on popping up every 30 seconds. It is really really annoying. What can I do? Thanks

Hi tbl.

Welcome to the forums mate!

Can I ask, why do you want to keep Norton installed if you don't want to register? Your virus database won't be getting updated. Anyway, I came across the folowing info:

You can configure Norton Antivirus Auto-Protect program not to load at start up (right click Norton Icon\Configure Norton Antivirus). Remove check mark by Enable Auto Protect. If this does not work, you can also remove the program via Add/Remove. Personally, I wouldn't be without an antivirus program. The newer McAfee antivirus program is quite good and is cheaper then Norton. Plus it has a much faster scan engine. (http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/f...30701+28353475)

I also assume there will be something to disable in MSCONFIG (Start>Run>MSCONFIG>Startup) that you can disable to stop these messages.

Let me know if any of this is any use to you mate.
