Since installing Norton AV 2005 recently, I have noticed some rather large updates to the Symantec Trusted Applications List.
Could you give a quick explanation of just what this List is?
I have googled this List and it seems to be for Norton's firewall which I don't use.

Howdy Jrpatt,
Are you running Norton's suite? Is nortons firewall in add remove programs? As for the trusted apps there just that, applications they know as safe to access the internet/

No, Norton Antivirus 2005 is the only Symantec product on my PC.

I think the trusted applications list is shared by the apps, so even if you don't have FW it would downloading them...
