there are all in one suites for protection but IMHO you are better off using seperate programs for each job, but everyone has there own thoughts on this

If you are looking for free software , then for anti spyware i'd say Ad-Aware or spybot. And for free AV's i think AVGfree or Avast.

AVG Free is pretty good. But my personal choice (paid) AntiVirus is NOD32, it is really fast at scanning.
