Default What I found today

I scanned my computer today because I figured that there must be something that's going on with the computer. It runs faster in Safe Mode than it does in normal Windows!!

After about an hour of scanning, AntiVir found quite a bit. However, I can't upload it due to it's large size.

I looked through the document and found these:

TR/Agent.uy.1
WORM/SdBot.XD.96
WORM/SdBot.XD.129

Also, with AntiVir, I received a lot of warnings about files not being able to be opened. Is that a serious problem as well?

You can split , or zip/rar the log. But it sounds like a good idea to run atleast one other or more AV scans , like a Panda active scan:

And also run Stinger , see link below.

Another thing that I wanted to know is if I would be able to boost the speed of this computer once all the viruses were gone. I figured that once I could at least get the computer running normally (i.e. no 3 minute lag just for clicking on Firefox at startup), then I could worry about the Messenger problem.

Well , did you atleast install an firewall , and update windows by now? It doesn't look like it , there are a hole bunch of infections again on that just formatted pc..

You are getting nowhere like this , formatt youre pc with the internet disconnected , install windows , an AV and an firewall , connect to the net and update windows.

The thing about Windows Update is that after updating to SP1, nothing would show up on the Desktop, not even the Start menu, so I had to do a System Restore just to get everything back to before I installed it. So, despite all of this, what should I do? I would hate to go through another reformat just for things to be the same and all.
