Default [Fixed] anti virus software and freezing

I have sophos anti virus however i wanted some other type of antivirus software as sophos just tells me i have 2 viruses but does nothing to delete them.
I was recomended avast by a friend and downloaded it and then my computer froze, i was unable to do anything. so i had to turn my compuer off at the plug.
When i restarted my computer the computer froze again as soon as i had logged in. I repeated this several times with the same consequences.
So i restorted to safe mode and deleted the antivirus software.
Everything returned to normal.
I thought it must have been something to do with the download so i tryed downloading kaspersky i think its called, only to find the same thing happened.

Can anyone please help!?

 Hello Aalexmiller!

Welcome to PCHF. We have a wonderful team of techs here, and I am sure that we can help you get to the bottom of this.

First of all before installing Avast or Kapersky, did you uninstall or at least disable Saphos? If not, that is most likely the cause of your problems. The two anti-virus programs are conflicting.

It is also possible that while Saphos cannot remove the two virus' that it is recognizing, that we can remove them another way.

Why don't we see what is showing up in your system and start getting to the bottom of this, then if you still want to change AV programs we can walk you through it.

Please follow the instructions in the PreWork link in my signature, and post back the two resulting logs, along with the names of the virus' that Saphos is showing.

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW

 Um Aalex,

I need you to rerun the HijackThis, you are running it from a temp folder, you need to uninstall it, and unzip it into its own folder either created on your desktop or in My Documents, but it must be in its own folder.

Look forward to your reply,
