Default Looking for suggestions

Hey

Just looking for some suggestions -my norton tial is running out 1 day and i gott to get some new software - ive downloaded n installed AVG free edition - everything works fine. For the firewall i got zonealarm free edition. I installed it but it keeps blocking everything - even google and a litle text box comes up saying its blocked - Im thinking about uninstalling it because i aint got a firewall up right now due to it blocking everything - wondering if theres any suggestions on some free ones?

ZA isn't supposed to do that , did you change any settings in ZA? And have you allowed things like I.E. access to the net?

And how does that box look like? and does it say anymore?

LOL Joe - youre always the one to respond to my problems - I really should send you a xmas card . I feel bad....

I havent changed anything on ZA, not really sure if I allowed IE access or how to. The stupid thing is - its even blocking the online tutorial for ZA  .

The box is a kinda orange speech bubble ( lower right) and usually says 'the firefall has blocked 'whatever' it has an option to not show again but no option to 'allow' which Im used to having. I think I'll try n hunt down a new FW, ZA seems weird.

That doesn't sound like ZA.. are you sure that isn't from the windows firewall?

ZA popups should look something like this:

That sounds like ZA's privacy advisor.

Try this , open ZA , on the left go to "privacy" and then click on any of the three "custom"s , and on all three tabs press "restore defaults".
After that on the "cookies" tab , remove the tick infront of the privacy advisor.

Also go to , on the left "program control" and then "advanced" and check if on the "access permision" tab , if all four options are set to "always ask".
