Question [FIXED] - Anti-Virus message

Hi all

Until a week ago I was using AVG virus software, then I got a message each time I started my PC it was in a balloon from the AVG icon in the systray, it said "Your PC might be at risk the virus scanner data base is out of date click here to fix the problem" whenI click it takes me to microsoft security centre and gives me some Virus scannersoftware options all of which cost money after a free trail, my AVG was not out of date, I update regular. I tried to un/reinstall still the same message, so I tried a new software virus scanner and still got the message, I then insalled PCguard from telewest, still the same message, this is driving me crazy ...any ideas please?:computer_

Hello and welcome to PCHF Ivy

How did you update your AVG, did you do it through the software itself (by clicking on Update) or did you download the updates from the site?

Install your AVG again and then go to the site and download all updates available:

Well if your PC Guard is working and the is no more "balloons" popping up and you are happy then I would say leave it.

Otherwise you can try to reinstall AVG (obviously remove PC Guard) and download the update from the site and install it.
