What is UnHackMe?

UnHackMe allows you to detect and remove a new generation of Trojan programs - invisible Trojans. They are called "rootkits".
UnHackMe is not a usual Trojan's scanner like RegRun or HijackThis.

It's used to detect Invisible Trojans (rootkits) only!

A rootkit is a collection of programs that a hacker uses to mask intrusion and obtain administrator-level access to a computer or computer network. The intruder installs a rootkit on a computer using a user action or by exploiting a known vulnerability or cracking a password. The rootkit installs a backdoor giving the hacker a full control of the computer. It hides their files, registry keys, and process names, and network connections from your eyes.


Supported Windows NT4/2000/XP. Compatible with Windows XP SP2.


UnHackMe 2.5_30 day evaluation version.

UnHackMe still works after finishing evaluation but it will ask you for registering.

Great Find. Is this something everyone should just have on their computer to run occasionally? Or, is something you would use if you suspected you had an infestation?

Its a good thing to run this every now and then since A.V.s or anti spyware apps normally dont detect rootkits and therefor are useless against them.

The signs should be around the same as a normal worm or virus but youre A.V ect just wont find it.


Im only not sure iff it keeps working after the evaluation period... On one page they say:

:-) Joe, I could be wrong, (wouldn't be the first time :-D ) but I think that just refers to the fact that the trial will scan and fix the things it finds. As opposed to some programs that offer "Free Scans" but won't fix anything until you buy the product.
