Exclamation dell inspiron 1000 stops

after logging in. if I run Diagnostics it stops always after 50% of the express diagnostics.

I have tried removing the hd and ram turn it on perhaps to reset but to no avail.

Could some one also advise me how to open the case of the 1000 in the event of replacement of parts etc ?

Why don't you give us a breakdown as to what the circumstances were leading up to you doing a diagnostics check please.

Hello Wolfeymole,

Thanks for your response "why did I enter Diagnostics".

The reasons are that during the past week or so the dell inspiron 1000 some times stopped; for no apparent reason and more recently the stops became much more frequent; such that it will not boot up fully before stopping.

I have also tried replacing the hd temporarilly with another drive which is in working order; but the same thing/s happenned.
