Default Mouse Freezes

I am wondering if anyone can help me out. I have a new HP slimline PC, with vista operating system. After my screen has shut down in power save mode, when I re-activate things, my mouse is frozen. So my screen comes back to life, but it takes my mouse more than 30 seconds before it finally wakes up.

Can anyone tell me if there is a setting I need to change to stop this or if there is anything else I can do?

Thanks

Ok go into Control Panel and then Power Options.

Set the button to High Performance.

In Change Plan Settings underneath make sure that;

"Turn off the Display"

and

"Put the computer to sleep"

are set to Never.
