Dell Insiron 9300 won't Boot?
Hi all.
I've been given a Dell Inspiron 9300 that won't boot up. Turn it on and it'll power up for around 5-6 secs then switch off. The screen doesn't seem to show anything (unless its in a power save mode?). I've tried to power up with AND without the battery in. The AC is fine and shows that its charging the battery (when in) which makes me think the problem is a bit deeper. Oh, btw, it has a freshly formatted HDD fitted so no disk errors there. Any assistance appreciated.

Welcome back.
It could be a blue screen causing your PC to reboot but because it's so quick, you don't see it. Try this... As you switch on, keep tapping F8 until you get to this menu  From this menu, select "Disable Automatic Restart on System Failure" and see if it's a blue screen preventing you progressing. You could also try "Last known good configuration" too.

yep. all the time. i did try and open the cd tray when switching it on but that was unresponsive.I really don't know whats causing it. =(
