Exclamation Black screen after chaning video cards

Hey,

today a friend of mine brougth me her pc that dosnt boots at all, just shows black screen. to check if his pc is ok i tryed to put his video card in my pc, at first it did few fast beeps after restart it dos nothing only black screen, now i tryed to put my old video card an Readon 4890hd 1GB and samething happend black screen, i even tryed to taik my readon and my psu and put it in her computer and it worked, puted them all back in my pc and nothing now later that day she went and got new PSU and Video card, so i put her new grforce 265 ( or what was it ) to my PC at first it did fast beeps then nothing black screen again...

Can anybody help me or at leas tgive me a clue about what to do?

Does the motherboard have on-board graphics? If it does, try plugging the cable into the on-board graphics connector and see if anything changes. If not, then the graphics controller or PCI-E/PCI/AGP (whichever slot you're using) might be defective. Try a different slot. Even though you tried different GC (Graphics Cards), if a slot is defective, nothing will change.

there is no onboard gc and i only have 1 PCI-E slot btw the mobo is Gigabyte 965P-DS3 (rev 2.0).

It could also be that the cards aren't getting enough power to run. They might have a power connector for the PSU. You can tell if it does or not by looking for a power connector on the card. If it has one, you MUST connect it to the PSU, but the PSU has to have enough power to power it.

The video card dos have 2 power connectors and i do connect them, when i got my video card i got an psu for 750 woth it and i did use my pc for a month or two for gaming befor this happend....
