WTF?? Recently bought a new 16gig thumb drive. Used it a few times, no issue. Mainly for transferring data from one computer to another. Transfer, then delete files from the drive to make room for more. Then the last time I did this, it would only allow me to delete a few things from it, said I didn't have permission!
Now I just went to copy more data to it & it said permission denied for that too! Looking at it in a file browser, there is a 'x' emblem on it and padlock emblems on each folder in it. Can't change permissions under properties either - says permission denied!
Can someone tell me how I get the blasted thing to change it's mind & let me in??

Hi
First, I have to point out that profanity is frowned upon in PCHF. Computers can be quite a nuisance, but 4 (or in your case 3) letter words or acronyms are best avoided.. ...as well as longer and more descriptive terms. Now, there seem to be more people with similar issues. Find the site here:Access Denied when accessing USB drives in Windows Vista Blarts Hope it helps.
