I've had my iPod Touch, 2nd generation, since last Christmas. It has always had minor problems with the network, but they have grown more and more frequent.

I can access the network just fine, but sometimes it can drop from 3 bars to 1 bar without me moving a bit. It has bearable slowness on Safari - and always works with Safari.

The real problem is how long it takes to load apps. It can timeout and say that no network is detected, because the apps will often try 2-3 minutes before giving up. On Youtube, it will load the video part way, then just quit. Sometimes it doesn't load the videos at all. I did a speed test, and one came back with acceptable readings of 512 kbps download. The next test started out at 512, and quickly worked its way down to 2 kbps for the last half of the test. The third and final test had a 3380 ms ping time.

We have another iPod Touch in the house, and it has no problems at all. However, my laptop does have problems with the network on occasion, and I will have to change the broadcast channel and power level to clear up the problems. The router is a 2Wire 1800HG, I believe.
