Sorry I'm confused with this forum But,
I just got a new comp and I don't know how to hook it up to wireless.
But can I just put an ethernet cord from the router into the comp and it will find the net?
or do I need something else?

Hello Gremlin
Welcome to PC Help Forum Ok a few questions, is your new computer a desktop or a laptop, if it's a laptop does it have wireless capability, if it's new it should have? What kind of router do you have? Is it a stand alone router or router/modem combination?

It's a desktop.
I have the Simultaneous Dual-Band Wireless-N Router by Linksys. I don't think its a router modem combo. |

With regard to any aspect of confusion with regard to navigating PCHF or how to post, read this please. http://www.pchelpforum.com/faq.php?faq=vb3_board_faq With regard to your issue we need to ask if you want to go with wireless on the desktop and if you do, do you have a network wireless card in the machine. To me it's better to hardwire the desktop to the router, obviously via a modem to achieve a better connection. What modem do you have and can you give us the exact model number of the Linksys router please.
