and we used a reboot disk from a Packard Bell
and now my pc says i need a video card compatible to play games and use screensavers,
but my acer could use them before

What did you use the reboot disk for? To re-install windows?

It sounds like you need to download and install the necessary drivers for your GPU.

What model is the Acer?

I have to agree with Callisto here and using that Packard Bell disk was not the greatest idea in the world.

Is this a laptop or a desktop and as Callisto said what is the exact model number?

Is it running Vista?

Did you get any recovery disks with it?

Yeah, don't use other brands recovery disc's, the problem is that they have their own drivers for that PC; did the Acer come with any recovery discs? If so use thoughs.

If not, back-up what you need, reboot the PC and press, I think it's F11 after the boot screen, it's either F10-12. This will load the pre-installed recovery disc that's on a hidden partition, do a new install and you'll have all the drivers and settings for you're laptop.
