Just recently I was playing World of Warcraft, the screen suddenly turned black and a beeping noise followed. I rebooted my computer and now the display is 16 colour and lowest resolution settings.

Have no idea what or why that happened. Never had problems with my laptop before. It's an Acer Aspire 5920G with Nvidia Geforce 8600M GS.
Also using an external LCD screen, but now it wont work either.

Tried rebooting many times, but it doesnt solve the problem. Sometimes the screen just look like a grey mush and when I reboot agian I get message like "Windows couldnt load at this time due to recent hardware of software changes".

Any help would be much appriciated

Well I'll take a stab at this and suggest your graphics processor has died.

With it being a laptop and the gpu being an integral part of the board it could cost more to fix than the laptops worth but perhaps other members can offer alternative suggestions.
