I have a Dell Dimension 5150, after the computer is shut down overnight, when the power button is pressed next day,it doesnt start up, only flashes green, off, green, off and so on. Unpluging by the mains for a couple of minutes doesnt work (keeps doing the same thing). After about 15 mins or more the computer will come back on, but if I shut it down it happens again. Please help its driving me crazy

Hello men-of-harlech,after some research try this, replace your cmos battery and see if this helps. Remember to power off and unplug before starting

Hi men-of-harlech - Welcome to PCHF!!!
As vger suggested try replacing the cmos battery. Can you please check the power options in windows. Click Start > Control Panel > Power Options What settings do you have listed there? Try changing it to Always On with everything set to Never. Does that help? |
