Default power on problem

Built my 2nd pc from scratch for my nephew........

After 6 mo. or so, when I push power button, all fans and lights go on for a second and thats it. No startup...........I did manage to check all connections and got it going again, only to have it happen a couple weeks later. Short of taking whole PC apart and rebuild, does anyone have a suggestion, such as does power button or wires from power button inside the case itself cause such a problem? I have not taken apart the wiring that lead to power button on front cover yet.

Check the power button wiring for a loose connection, this may be a cause of your grief...

The power button touch,s 2 wires for a second then lets go if you keep the contact on it will turn it off. The most common problem is there is a tine switch and a big power button that pushes it the big button sticks/breaks jamming the switch on. Most cases you cant buy new switches for them
