Ok

Here's a scenario ok.

You have an XP disk and a clean machine and you want to install XP to the stick so you can boot from that.

No problem

However why would you want to do that unless you intended to use the main internal hard drive as spare space?

Once you start installing programs the stick will be filled in no time.

If your thinking of loading XP to the stick and then using it between machines, forget it as the system hardware parameters on the given machines will not match up to the parameters on the stick.

Oh yeah I forgot about the hardware aspect... der

Are you familiar with Symantec Ghost?

What I really would love to do, is make a small enough bootable partition to load Ghost onto it, and then use the rest of the storage for images.

This will obviously be on a USB HDD since images take up lots of space

If I could get that going, that would help Tech Services ALOT

The thing is now though Doggy that this issue should ideally be handled by the companies systems administrators who get paid for sorting these things out.

I'm not really comfortable responding any further with regard to this issue.

Perhaps others at PCHF could continue your assistance if needed.
