Default Partition a USB Flash Drive

Hey,

I've been browsing the web about partitioning a USB flash drive... with no success

I've tried the BootIt (if anyone knows what I mean) method but that hasn't worked for me

I'm trying to partition a 8 gig Kingston Data Traveler

Any help would be appreciated.

Well I'm using Windows 7 on one PC and XP on another

I've messed around with diskpart in Windows 7, but I don't know if you can partition that way.

I have XP/7 dual boot on my laptop but to be honest I've never played around with the 7 partitioning tool but if it's based on the Vista partitioning tool then there should be no problem as the stick should be viewed as just another HDD, albeit small and it's not a primary boot drive.

Windows 7 and Vista have the same diskpart utility, or at least I believe they do since they both recognize flash drives.

But would anyone know the commands to create partitions on flash drive using diskpart?

Once the stick is formatted you can use the inbuilt tools to create, shrink or enlarge the partitions.

I've tried doing that but the shrink and enlarge aren't available to select

Take a look, I don't know why I can't
