Hello Sam and Welcome back!

Would you prefer to $ a TV Tuner for your PC or software-based? They both have their goods and their bads.

I'll leave this up to the Techs here. I'll mark this thread as "Open" so it will get more attention from our Techs. Thanks for your patience.

hi samir_ali , there are a couple of options you can choose ,

you can either have an internal pci card tuner or an external usb receiver ,

either way you will need to get a signal from your existing digital/cable tv provider , basically all this means is that you need to run a coaxial cable from your tv set top box to the new card or usb receiver , which ever you decide to purchase

another option is to have an external digital antenna fitted and run the cable from there to your pc ( you may need a freeview box ) to get a signal this way ..

take a look at this site for a tv tuner card or an external usb receiver

Well i already have a cable going to my modem, i can just use a splitter and split it.

which one would you recommend an internal one or external?

i personally use the usb stick and it works fine, it is also a little cheaper than the internal card , Hauppauge Computer Works Ltd : WinTV-NOVA-TD Stick
