OK I let it set overnight. Restarted this morning and it let me get into vista with the Media Center screen starting and then died again. I restarted and went straight to bios to check the temps:

Current System Temp: 34C
Cur CPU Tmp: 107C!!
CPU Fan Speed: 1997 RPM
System Fan Sppeed: 0
Power Fan Speed: 0

Then it shut down again while I was still in bios. But I felt the heat sink and it was not hot?

107C = 206.6F degree Fahrenheit - TOO HOT!!
34C = 93.2F which is acceptable

But the CPU temp is your answer!

Try seeing if the fan(s) work properly.

The fan is working just fine. There are two other fans in the tower and the case is open, so there is air getting in there....
I was going to take the fan/heatsink off and take a look at the CPU, but I can't figure out how to take it off. Its a foxconn, circular fan. It has 4 posts with push tabs on the top of eack one. I got 3 of them undone with pure muscle, but the fourth will not budge.
