Also, thinking it might be the external drive, I disconnected that HD and am still having the problem.

Also, I don't know if this matters, but this is an HTPC, so Media Center is supposed to start up on boot for the desktop, but that hasn't been happening. Also, when I was actually making into Vista (before I had to go to Safe Mode) the resolution was really low.

Well, thats a good question, because it never gets far enough into loading to be hot. During my swap outs I never touched the fan or CPU (except to blow them out with air after these problems started occuring) Should I pull it and reapply paste (I think I have some laying around here SOMEWHERE)?
A couple of other things which I don't know if they matter. The HTPC has 4 HD. 2- 1 Tb, 1 - 750 GB (External conversion), & 1 - 250 GB. The 250 is partioned into a 36 GB partition which has the OS and the rest of the drive stores recorded programs for MC. |

Hi, ok let's go back to basics, Disconnect every thing, add the PSU, CPU, a stick of RAM, graphics card (if need be) and hard drive with an OS installed. see what happens.
