JM I think we have a combination of the two and put into consideration of the hot weather.

CPU temps are fine,GPU issue and HDD.

Both I think need a resolution,better cooling and lets see what chkdsk /r brings up.

leaving for work now, doing a disk check and ill be back in a couple hours with the results, hopefully it doesnt shut down while the check is running!

Thats fine let us both know how it goes.

It can take some time and appear to freeze but that is just checking for errors and if it finds any it attempts to fix them.
