Hi, I have a Emachines T6542. PC doesn't start up. Press power button, lights up on the tower, fans buzz hard disks spin, etc and such but monitor doesn't turn on and pc keeps buzzing non stop. Nothing initializes. I check all plugs and everything. I checked everything inside, reset what I could. Nothing works??? I already reset bios and that did nothing.
I thought it might be video card related but these is non, its all on board the motherboard so idk.
Doesn't make sence.

If the computer acts like it on but it's actually not, then the power might be too high. Look on the back of your PC and see if you can see a red switch. A PC typically needs 300-500 watts with an advanced graphics card, CPU, etc. If it's too high, switch it to a lower setting and try. But, if it beeps, then it's different. Every manufacturer uses different # of beeps to indicate different problems.

To tell you the truth. It doesn't beep at all. All it does after hitting the switch is run, spin, whatever loud constantly. I'll try that red power button but it ran the way it is for a year like that but I'll see. Any other ideas? Only card the pc has is a network card.
It's just used for word processing and internet browsing by my fiance. soo. |

Ok, checked the red switch, its not that. No beeps. Just everything seems to be running hard. IDK what the heck this could be. And actually didn't notice any LED on this time. So that mean MB gone bad???? I do know the last time it did work it wanted to have the bios reset to default, idk why but it did this a few times before that.

Hi there.
Ok that sounds it could be a dying/dead PSU, Motherboard ECT. could you try the PSU in another PC?
