hi my dell optilex was working fine but for some reason the mouse wont work at all, ive tried a few usb mice's and a few ps2 connection mouses but neither worked, the usb one's light up but didnt do anything. my keyboard stoped working and the pc wouldnt boot with it pluged in so i changed it to a usb one and now its fine. to check if its a windows fault i ran the ubuntu live cd and the mouse didnt work their either. also the bios takes ages to load (5-6mins) so im thinking the problems may be related.
any help would be apreaciated

Hello me067. I'll mark this thread as "Open" so one of our Techs can look at it. Thanks!

Hi me067
A GX240 eh? That's quite an old Dell you've got there. It could realistically be something as major as the motherboard and as minor as a Windows rebuild. As you have tested it in Ubuntu and are getting the same problems then we are almost certainly looking at a hardware issue of some sort. Try resetting the BIOS by removing the BIOS battery from the motherboard and the power for 5 mins. Then replace and test..
