Default BIOS Changes?

Hello,

The pc I am using needs to have the motherboard battery replaced. Since I purchased the pc, the only BIOS change made was the 'boot order' (hard drive/DVD Writer). When I replace the battery, is setting the time & the 'boot order' in the BIOS the only changes I need to make? Should my dual boot & multiple hard drive setup instantly be recognized & work as usual?

Alternatively:

When I replace the battery, if I was to reformat C: or D: drive & re-install Windows, do I need to make any BIOS changes after the reformat seeing as how I will be setting the time & date during the install. Also, should my dual boot & multiple hard drive setup instantly be recognised & work as usual?

Thanks,

Shantelle!!

Hello Shantelle and Welcome to PC Help Forum. We have an excellent staff and community ready to help you.

When you replace a motherboard battery, it wipes out the time, BIOS configuration, boot order, and date. Your dual boot HD setup should work as usual.

If you were to reformat your C: or D: drive and re-install Windows, you don't need to make any changes to BIOS. Yes, you're dual-boot HD setup should work as usual.

Hope this helps and answers your question. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! We are here to help!
