So I have a PNY 4G flash drive. It has always worked just fine with my pc here and the ones at school. but now when I plug it in it won't open up the automatic menu or show up on MyComputer. I know there is a way to "find" it on the pc. I just don't know how to do that, and there is a big homework assignment on there I need to finish.
Someone please help!

hi pjkohn sry for the late reply to your post ,there are couple of ways to to try to browse the pen 1 plug the pen in and double click the my computer icon undder removable devices see if the pen is listed ther if so right click it and select explore this should let you view the files , if that fails , (with the pen inserted ) vista-click start and type "device" in the run/search box select device manager from the list ,,,on xp right click my computer and select properties then hardware / device manager check to see if the device is listed under disc drives and make sure it has no exclamation mark next to it report back what you find so we can further investigate this , if i cant solve it we have great tech staff and community members who will try there utmost to find a solution to your problem looking forward to your reply

thanks for your reply bigbadjohn
it is listed under device manager as USB Flash Memory, and it shows up when i go to "safely remove hardware." But it won't show up under MyComputer or just by going and looking for the files. |

right click on the name of the pen drive and go to properties. there should be a tab called autoplay.. go to it and it will give you options on what you can do when it is plugged in and how you want it to open. Hope this helps you.

I'm sorry but I'll take the bad news option.
If it doesn't work on two PC's it either faulty or needs reformatting. Others in the forum may know how to recover the data.
