Have you looked in Device Manager?

Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware Tab > Device Manager.

Look for a yellow exclamation mark next to your USB drive. If there is one, then right click the drive and choose Properties > Update Driver > Update Automatically

Then it should work.

IF there is no yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager then I think its safe to assume the USB drive is dead.

Thanks yeah I was under the assumption it would be dead just wanted to get a more professional opinion here. However I wont be able to replace such a free piece of equipment lol I'll just have to find a combo deal to get another free usb flash drive again. Thanks for all the help now I think it's safe to say that this can be closed and used for reference.

Yeah I am going to be around this community for awhile just came to it and I see things I can help answer and also things that I can learn from deffinately a safe community for questinos answering. You guys are doin a good job.
