Recently I had a problem when using various programs whereas they would shut down and produce an error report. This became more frequent within the next two days. Parts of AVG would be shut down but they would restart and shut down again. this progressed onto having the screen turning black with a large egg timer in the top left corner and some blue blocks scattered around the rest of the screen. After this the machine would just shutdown and restart for what I thought was no reason. I tried to complete a system restore as I had installed Firefox and some updates, I could not complete this procedure. As the machine was restarting very frequently I downloaded advanced registry fix and it seemed to work after a scan.....for about 30 minutes.
from this point things got progressively worse to the point now that when I switch the machine on it doesn't always go through the boot up tests so I have to restart it. Sometimes I can get it to start but it gets as far as the black screen with the windows logo and progress bar and restarts. I have tried to use my windows disk to complete a restore but this only gets so far before restarting. I also attempted to reinstall windows but again it only got so far before restarting. I have wondered if this was caused by memory problems, psu problems, motherboard problems and over heating problems but the machine is only 6 - 8 months old and even after being switched off and disconnected from the mains all day it still happens. Please Help me I need this machine to work.

Hey there repoleman.
I see you are receiving help with a similar issue in another thread. Is this the same machine, or another one. If the same, please continue with your questions there as posting multiple threads serves no other purpose than to confuse the issue. One thing that you can do.. please click on the Prework link in my signature. Add the resulting logs to your next post here and we'll get our Security Team to take a look at them. If there is on problem there, continuing your other threads will be easier. Thanks for your patience

Hi poleman, When i had that problem it was because the virus did somthing to my hard drive so that i could not reinstall either. What I did was just wiped it clean w/third party software then it installed fine. Or you could put it in another pc to do the same, once its wiped clean, (all your info too) you will be able to install windows now. hope that helps, keep us posted! (try to keep one thread though)
