Thank you, this one really helped, I think I am just gonna get retail Vista Premium/Ultimate and make a dual boot of that on my HDD, since I am using XP Pro 32-bit as of right now.Which leads to my next question, can you make a dual boot of 64-bit Vista and 32-bit XP?

I would assume so but I have contacted the Tech Team Leader to help me out on this one and make sure I'm not giving you any wrong advice.

Regards,
Adam

nothing wrong that i can spot...the main difference between oem versions and retail is oem gets zero tech-support-- so if there is a problem you are on your own, period. Retail gets you 'free' help-- and at 2AM THAT CAN BE INVALUABLE.
depends on your own level of confidence
...an edit to that being "on your own, period" comment there have been Many occasions when that was not a bad thing--if you catch my drift.

that said-- there are many, many Vista sites out there now...!

4gigs is a lot of ram--and while the XP operating system only 'sees' 3-gigs-- the hardware can use all of it. Splitting hairs, I know-- but 64 bit systems are so new that there is not much software out for it yet-- not for the 'general user'

one 'hint' i take very much to heart....Microsoft has extended XP's life again

Microsoft Extends XP Life Again, This Time for PC Builders -RSS

they would not do that without OEM-builders' intense presssure

Thank you guys so much, from what I have learned here is what I decided on.

I am going to do all of the upgrades stated here and maybe get a little better mainboard, and run XP Professional untill Windows 7 comes out this year because I see no use in getting Vista when 7 is around the corner. Thanks guys for all your help.
