Please help certain keys are not working period forward slash question mark colon and semi colon apostrophe equal hypen underline (sorry cant use most punctuation keys) directional arrows (except right)dot on number pad doesnt work either can anyone help me I have a dell inspiron 1720

I suggest you try another keyboard to see it the fault persists...

Have you tried cleaning the keys with a natural bristle brush?

What happens if you restart the machine and repeatedly tap F8 choose last known good config or safe mode with networking?Do they keys then work?

I have tried an external keyboard and that keyboard works I have also tried cleaning and shutting down hitting F8 doesnt do anything I think I will have to take it in Thanks for the suggestions tho
