hi all,.. im having alittle bit of mic trouble if anyone can help me please ?... im using a windows XP system a advent t9404 model and the mic is a jack mic and iv just bought a new one just incase the other was broke problem happend after i reformatted my system everything else works just not the mic ... but i have tryed everything to get it working from checking muted box's to opening the pc its self to see if anything has came loose inside ... funny thing is i can play music fine and hear all other sounds fine also head phones work fine just cant get the mic working .. when i try looking at the mic volumes etc etc its all greyed out and says "no recording device" so its not picking it up for some reason, .. i keep uninstalling and re-installing my drivers thinking that would solve it but thats no help eather .. iam really stuck on how to get it working and need help .. any idea's please ?

Hello and welcome to PCHelpForum.
Did you download a new audio driver? Try going to device manager and choose update driver on your audio/sound section. Or download a fresh driver for your computer manufacturers website and run it. Another thing you may want to try is in device manager uninstall the actual sound card and restart the computer and let new hardware wizard reinstall it. I have marked your thread as "Open" in readyness for the Tech Team and wonderfull helpfull members to help you with this. JB.

Thankyou let us know if it works.
Did the mike come with any software? Depending on your sound card when you download a fresh driver from the computer manufacturers website under support.Some times with ceratin brands an extra sound control software is also downloaded. Such as HD audio controller.I would see if you have this on your task bar.

ok lol .. im alittle lost .. iv tryed to do those .. but couldnt find my way around .. hmmm if you can give a step by step on each 1 .. just so i can get the write things done corretly ... would be very greatful ... thanks alot

my m8 didnt come with any software at all as its a jack mice ... nota usp mic
