Default PNP understading/ just making sure

i have a sony vaio vgc ls30 all in one pc and it has the standard red white and yellow on the back, and when something gets plugged in shouldnt the pc pick it up? and automatically connect and play with it right? or do i need to go through a certain program to show it? i would say windows vista or media player but neither would recognize it? any help or hints woujld be greatly appreicaited thank you!

You're talking about the standard RCA connectors, right? What is it you're connecting to?

yes sry its the standard vga jacks and im trying to hook my friends 360 for him but i dunno y its not even registering on his pc that something has been plugged into a slot or even when i do an "extender search" on windows media center it doesnt find anything

You need to check the properties of the connection in the graphics card control panel.

Default rca video jack input help

i have a friend with a composite video/audio jack on the back of his sony vaio vgc ls30 and hes trying to play his 360 on his pc and he cant really figure out how to do it, he plugs it in and nothing happens, does he need to run it through a video capture program or is something wrong with his video card, should i update it?
