Good day all,

I was just given a Dell 4600 and I can't get the ethernet card working onboard or pci slot. Windows can not find the drivers for either card. So I went online and DL the drivers from the dell website for the on board card, and no go. I then pulled the card and found the drivers reinserted the card and installed the drivers and still no luck.

I figured that the cards were bad so I put another PCI ethernet card in the machine and windows still can't find the drivers. I know this card works I just took it out of a machine that I just reformatted and windows detected it and I was on the net within minutes.

Dell 4600
2.6 p4
2gig PC3200 dual channal RAM
Nvidia 6600
Soundblaster 5.1 pci card(works fine)

Ok well I figured out, oh wait that is not what happened... It just started to work, the 3rd card worked after it would not install the and I came here to post from another comp... came back down and I had been logged off the user account logged back in a the ethernet card worked...

No clue what happened, but happy the PC fairy came to the rescue!
