Hi,

Yesterday I moved everything inside my new computer to an old case (Soprano) the reason I did this was because my new case (CM 690) had the PSU at the bottom and I couldn't put in my graphics card because the 4-pin ATX cable is not long enough to go over it.

Anyway, when I moved everything to the new case, I plugged in a thumbdrive to the back of the motherboard and it said "This USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port." I tried all the ports at the back of the motherboard and I get the same message. This only happened after I switched case. What should I do?

Also, when I plugged in the same thumbdrive to the front port of soprano it said "USB Device not Recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."

I have Windows XP SP2 installed.

Try and update all the drivers for the USB ports in device manager:
Right Click My Computer/ Properties/ Hardware/ Device Manager

Also go into your BIOS (hit F2 at POST) and enable all USB ports to Hi-Speed

I just tried updating all the USB ports in device manager and all of them said "The wizard cannot find a better match for your hardware than the software you currently have installed."

USB 2.0 and Hi-Speed are enabled in BIOS.

I have a suggestion that would have saved you a lot of work-- the 4-pin ATX connector can be hooked up in your other case --if you use this adapter--you could use a "spare" Molex connector-- or use a splitter on one that does not draw much power. (like a CD drive)
