My sister recently boughts parts needed to build herself a new computer. I put everything together, Case, motherboard, processor, fan, power supply, hard drive, dvd-rom/dvd-rw drive, 1 gig
RAM, and a video card.
All of it is brand new. I connected all the internal cables properly(as described in the manuals that came with the products).
Everything in the computer is getting power, of that I am completely certain. When I boot up the computer, it shows that there are no IDE devices connected. I'm certain I have the IDE cable correctly plugged into the motherboard, dvd drive, and hard drive. The hard drive is set to master, and the dvd drive is set to slave.
I do not understand why the computer is not seeing my IDE devices. I have checked the cable numerous times, and again the cable is brand new itself, so I wouldn't think that it's a bad cable.
Does anyone have ideas as to what I should do?
