Default Long shot

Hello all,

I know that this isnt really this forums area but I am crossing my fingers and hoping that someone might be able to help.

I just got a tomtom ONE 3rd Edition the other day. I was playing with it downloading voices and such and I got a "Red X of Death."

After reading some forums I was adviced to format the tomtom, which I did.

This took care of the RXoD but now it says no maps found!

I've tried several of their fixes including the "flash clear" program, and simply pin resetting it.

Anyway, I hope someone on here is able to help me fix this.

Thanks!

Hello can you try the following?

If your device only shows a cross after you turn it on, the TomTom application is not installed or cannot be found.

To solve this, follow the steps below.
Manually remove the TomTom application:
  1. Reset your device.
  2. Connect your device to your computer.
  3. Turn on your device by pressing the power button for 5 seconds.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Windows: Click Start > My Computer and then double-click the Removable Disk for your TomTom device.
    • Macintosh: Double-click the desktop icon for your TomTom device.
  5. Delete all files except the following:
    • Do not delete any of the folders!
    • Do not delete the files antitheftw.bmp, lowbatteryw.bmp and splashw.bmp (if present)!
Reinstall the TomTom application:
  1. Start TomTom HOME
If you don't have TomTom HOME installed on your computer, you can get the latest version from
TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems

Select an option:
  1. I previously updated my device on this computer
  2. If you previously updated your device on this computer, click Add Maps, Traffic, Voices etc. and then click Items on my computer.
You can install the application by clicking the plus symbol and then Add.

  3. I never updated my device on this computer

  4. If you never updated your device on this computer, click Update my device.

    Important:
If HOME asks you to Unplug your TomTom device, try clicking OK first.
If HOME notes that a problem has occured, click Back.

HOME offers to download and install the latest version of the TomTom application.

  5. Click Done and then click Device > Disconnect Device.
  6. Your device should now start up again. If it hasn't started up after 10 seconds, press the On/off button.

To reset your TomTom device, do the following:
  1. Check that the battery is charged properly.
Charge your device for at least 2 hours before trying to turn it on again. Make sure the charging light on your device is on.
  2. Reset your device.
Use a straightened paper clip, or something similar, to push the reset button for 15 seconds.
  3. Turn your device on.
Press the On/off button for at least 5 seconds.

When it says dont delete the folders, does that include any of the files in the folders? Like are we just dealing with the files in the main window?

Cause I see the antitheft file but none of the others.

Did you have any software included when you bought the tomtom?

Ok dont delete anything try the following steps or double check what you have done?

I do not think a format was the option.

You can download the software via link TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems

Do not delete any of the folders!
Do not delete the files antitheftw.bmp, lowbatteryw.bmp and splashw.bmp (if present)!
