Default [Answered] Network Mono laser Printer

Hi can someone advise me on a mono laser printer that will be able to cope with about 20000 prints a year at a primary school. It doesnt have to be top spec and preferably cheap on running costs for toner / drum unit etc..

Thanks

Hi Phil,

I would say Kyocera, FS-3800 or similar. Kyocera never seem to make an average printer. Their printers are either very very good, or very very poor. The FS-3800 is very good, in terms of quality, speed and can certainly handle a minimum of 20,000 prints per year. It will also last a very long time, as long as it is maintained. Running costs are also very good and you'll find that you'll need replacement drum's and maintainance kits less often as any other printer I can think of at the moment, so I'm sure there are others out there, but as soon as you mentioned cheap running costs, the FS-3800 popped into my head immediately.

I agree with Madmonkey - Kyocera's are the best network printers and they are the most economical - the next best would be a HP. I have been using Kyocera's for around 10yrs and they are always my first choice. They have a comparison tool on their website which shows you the cost difference between their printers and other brand printers that are the equivalent. It shows how much money it will save in running costs, etc. See link below:

You would probably make that back very soon. I'm not exactly sure where the best place to buy would be, but you can search through all of them from the Kyocera web site: KYOCERA MITA | Products | Where to buy | Hardware

Alternatively, the cheaper equivalent would be as DIIRE suggested, HP. Possibly the P2015 series for around £200-£300, or possibly the 1320n, but slightly less reliable than Kyocera IMO.
